Prof Huang Huikang of Wuhan University was invited to ‘Junwu Lecture Theatre’ of Guangxi University

On the evening of 17th June, Guangxi University Junwu Lecture Theatre and Lecture Theatre of Famous Lawyers (Lecture 7) started, Professor Huang Huikang, member of the United Nations International Law Commission, special professor of the Institute of International Law of Wuhan University, and the former Ambassador of China to Malaysia, was invited to give a lecture on the topic of ‘The Logic of the Times in Strengthening the Construction of Rule of Law in Foreign Countries’ for the students and faculty members. Before the lecture, President Han Linhai met with Professor Huang Huikang and exchanged views on strengthening the construction of the discipline of law and the cultivation of talents in foreign-related rule of law, and Han Linhai warmly welcomed Huang Huikang to Guangxi University, for which Professor Huang Huikang expressed his gratitude. The presentation was hosted by Vice President Yu Wenjin.

Professor Huang Huikang made a profound interpretation and detailed explanation of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech in the light of his experience in the 10th collective study of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. He pointed out that under the new situation, the foreign-related rule of law system and capacity building should take the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech as a fundamental guideline, deeply understand the strategic significance of strengthening the rule of law related to foreign affairs, strengthen the Party's leadership of the rule of law related to foreign affairs, strengthen the top-level design of the rule of law related to foreign affairs, safeguard and serve the opening up of foreign affairs with the rule of law related to foreign affairs at a high level, strengthen the cultivation of professional talents and team building, and firmly rule of law self-confidence in telling the story of China's rule of law. Through informative data and cases, he elaborated on the logic of the times to strengthen the rule of law in relation to foreign affairs: that is, in the context of the national renaissance and the century of change, strengthening the rule of law in relation to foreign affairs has become an urgent task to promote a high level of openness and to cope with the challenges of external risks, and it is necessary to adhere to the integration of the rule of law at home and the rule of law in relation to foreign affairs, so that we can create favourable conditions for the rule of law for the Chinese modernisation and the external environment for a stable and far-reaching future.
